Abstract
The case of a patient with carcinoma larynx who developed diaphragmati c paralysis and post-operative respiratory failure due to bilateral ph renic nerve injury is reported. The use of portable ultrasonography fo r an early diagnosis of diaphragmatic paralysis is discussed.
