Abstract
The Food and Drug Administration has just approved an emollient cream (Renova(R), Ortho Pharmaceuticals) containing 0.05 percent retinoic ac id for the treatment of dermatoheliosis, This term encompasses the cli nical stigmata of the photoaged face. The labeling indicates that Reno va(R) can enhance the appearance of photodamaged skin by effacing fine wrinkles, lightening hyperpigmented ''age spots,'' reducing roughness , and improving the overall texture of the surface.
