A report is given of the equipment for two plasterboard plants which w
ere ordered in 1991 and 1992 from Babcock-BSH in Bad Hersfeld by the F
rench company, Platres Lafarge. The first plant has been commissioned
successfully and on schedule in November 1992 in Bristol, England. The
plants are notable for particular flexibility in the production of wi
dely differing board dimensions. The drying plant with integral heat r
ecovery, which is the most extensive section of the entire manufacturi
ng line, ensures a high level of cost-effectiveness, even when operati
ng at part load. The equipment supplied by Babcock-BSH covers the manu
facturing line from the initial processing stations to the stacking eq
uipment for the packaged boards ready for despatch. The supply also in
cludes all the programmable control systems.
