Abstract
A new possible treatment of large-amplitude gauge-field fluctuations a round the slave-boson mean-field theory for the t-J model has been pro posed by attaching gauge flux to spinons and holons and then by treati ng them as g-ons which respect the time-reversal symmetry. Using the t hermodynamic distribution function of g-ons, the optimum exclusion sta tistics has been determined in the plane of doping rate and temperatur e. The results indicate that slave fermions are favored at low doping while slave bosons at high doping with intermediate statistics in betw een.
