M. Marek et al., STUDY OF POLYIMIDES PREPARED FROM 3,3',4,4'-BENZOPHENONETETRACARBOXYLIC DIANHYDRIDE AND 4,4'(ALKANE-1,N-DIYLDIOXY)DIANILINES, Journal of macromolecular science. Pure and applied chemistry, A33(4), 1996, pp. 477-489
Polyimides based on 3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride
and 4,4'-(alkane-1,n-diyldioxy)dianilines were prepared via the corres
ponding polyamic acids and characterized by solid-state C-13-NMR and I
R spectroscopy. As shown by x-ray diffraction measurements, the polyim
ides are semicrystalline whereas the polyamic acids are entirely amorp
hous. Glass transition temperatures of the polyimides are lower compar
ed with polyimides without flexible linkages. The polyimides are stabl
e up to 400 degrees C in nitrogen atmosphere.
