Abstract
A newly devised double balloon catheter to augment abdominal organ per fusion concomitant with original cardiac assist during intraaortic bal loon counterpulsation provided satisfactory hemodynamics and urinary o utput around cardiac surgical procedures in 2 patients with coronary a rtery disease. Some optional advantages in clinical application and pr oblems arising in the catheter design which need to be investigated ar e discussed.
