Abstract
Cervical epidural hematoma is an uncommon cause of neck pain. It may o ccur spontaneously or after trauma and has also been associated with m any underlying conditions. Most patients present with paraparesis or t etraparesis. We describe the case of a healthy 60-year-old woman in wh om a spontaneous cervical epidural hematoma developed while she was sw imming. She presented with transient hemiparesis and recovered without surgery. This case is unusual with respect to the patient's neurologi c presentation and her spontaneous recovery without neurologic sequela e.
