Primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma is an exceedingly rare clinical enti
ty in men. In this report, we present a man with an asymptomatic pulmo
nary mass, which was diagnosed as non-small cell lung cancer by the us
e of percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy, who underwent left uppe
r lobectomy. Final pathologic examination proved this tumor to be prim
ary choriocarcinoma of the lung. We conclude that surgical resection o
f incidental primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma, an extremely fatal mal
ignancy, may be an appropriate treatment of choice.
