Abstract
The coupled harmonic oscillator model is applied to pyrrole oligomers. The saturation behaviour of the optical response with the length of t he molecules and its dependence on their conformation is found to be i n agreement with experimental data. A comparison with the thiophene ol igomers and with recently published more elaborate quantum-chemical ca lculations is presented.
