Abstract
The empirical relation between the detection efficiency and volume of Ge(Li) detectors obtained by Vano et al. has been proved to be valid h ere by Monte Carlo simulation for HPGe detectors of active volume up t o 175 cm3. Simulations for the efficiency of the detectors with fixed active volume but different geometrical factors have also been made. I t indicates that the slope of the HPGe detector efficiency curve depen ds only on the detector's active volume but not on its geometrical fac tor.
