The results of calculations of charged particle induced reaction cross
sections for the production of the radioisotopes I-123, 123Cs and 123
Xe are discussed. The excitation functions 124Xe(p,2n), 124Xe(d,3n), 1
24Xe(p,pn + np), 124Xe(d,p2n), I-127(p,5n), Te-122(d,n), Te-123(p,n),
Te-124(p,2n), Sb-121(a,2n) and Sb-123(alpha,4n) are calculated on the
basis of a statistical model in the energy range up to 80 MeV. It is s
hown that consideration of the gamma-radiation channel is very importa
nt near the threshold, particularly for neutron deficient nuclei, and
can drastically influence the results of calculations. The analysis pe
rformed showed that the calculations with the ALICE code can serve as
a partially successful evaluation for the excitation functions for var
ious reactions.
