Abstract
A dry sliding contact analysis for two elastic bodies coated with mult iple layers is presented. Green's functions for a unit normal load and a unit tangential load for the generalized plane strain problem are d erived. The contact problem is reduced to an integral equation in whic h the contact pressure profile is unknown. A systematic and efficient numerical model for the developed integral equation is also introduced . The results for two different cases are presented and discussed.
