Some features of spark chambers filled with neon doped with air are di
scussed and how they can be applied to the measurement of air content
in a flow of gas passing through the chamber, in addition to monitorin
g the memory time of a streamer chamber, is considered. The cross sect
ions of electrons attachment to molecules of nitrogen, oxygen, and sat
urated water vapor as derived from attachment constants are in agreeme
nt with previously published data.
