Abstract
Issues studied by Peabody (1985) in a study of national stereotypes we re investigated again in a secondary analysis of public opinion data f rom the general public in a number of European countries. A convergenc e in stereotyping among perceiver groups was shown. In contrast with P eabody's results, strong in group favouritism was found.
