Abstract
A 42year old drug addict reported on his experiences with intravenous application of scandicaine and lidocaine. Lidocaine led to short-lasti ng euphoria comparable with former cocaine-induced effects. Pharmacolo gical hypothesis to explain these mental alterations are discussed.
