Abstract
Blastoschizomyces capitatus strains resistant to fluconazole were isol ated in three cancer patients. All of the strains had identical genomi c DNA restriction profiles. Our findings give evidence for the emergen ce of fluconazole-resistant B. capitatus and suggest a nosocomial acqu isition emanating from a common source within the hospital environment .
