GENERALIZATIONS OF THE CARLTON-KIMBALL DISTRIBUTION FOR A TARGETS FUTURE LOCATION

This paper addresses the problem of searching for a target in the plan e given only an initial position estimate and bounds on its speed and direction. Exact results are derived for determining the position dens ity of the target's future location assuming constant linear motion. I n particular, we derive a generalization of the Carlton-Kimball distri bution.
