Yp. Udalov et al., INCREASING CORROSION-RESISTANCE OF GRAPHITE BY TREATMENT IN CHLORINATING ATMOSPHERE, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 68(4), 1995, pp. 609-611
The mechanism has been studied of increasing the corrosion resistance
of graphite of ARV type by its treatment in CCl4 vapor at temperatures
less than or equal to 1180 degrees C. This effect may be due to remov
al of impurities via gas-transport reactions and to decrease of graphi
te porosity owing to accumulation of carbon in the pores as a result o
f CCl4 pyrolysis.
