Abstract
We present the extension of the Wakimoto construction to the U(q)(su(2 )k) quantum current algebra and its associated Z(k) quantum parafermio n algebra. This construction is achieved in terms of various deformati ons of three classical free boson fields. We also give the vertex oper ators corresponding to the quantum spin-j representation.
