Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the properties of turbulence by a fracta l analysis of the Meudon spectroheliograms. In the first phase of stud y, we considered photospheric faculae as best representatives of photo spheric magnetic fields. We selected images at a period of high solar activity (1958), in order to have a significant number of faculae. Pre liminary results show that Kolmogrov's turbulence describes the proper ties of faculae well, at the supergranulation scale. The distribution of photospheric faculae can be due to a random filling process. On the other hand, their fractal dimension does support the twisting and fol ding properties of helicity predicted in the framework of the alpha-om ega dynamo theory.
