D. Schwamborn et K. Wendel, CHILD CENTERED CONCEPT FOR CARE OF FAMILI ES WITH CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM CANCER IN THE FINAL STAGE - COOPERATION WITH THE FAMILY DOCTOR, Monatsschrift fur Kinderheilkunde, 141(4), 1993, pp. 272-276
For a period of more than a year children with incurable diseases and
their families we observed at home during the final stage of the child
ren's illness. The psychological assistance and the neccessary medical
care were guaranteed by the staff of the district attending clinic, t
he family doctors and the district home nurses. The results of this pr
oject show that the concept which takes into account the child's welfa
re at home, was practicable in all cases even in very serious disease
right up to death.
