For the first time we present the results of an analysis of the energy
distribution function of 2D excitons for fixed nonequilibrium phonon
spectra. The calculations are based on the kinetic equation for the in
teracting 2D exciton and 3D acoustic phonon gases. For the low-density
exciton gas in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells (QW), we find a strong depen
dence of the exciton energy distribution on the QW width and nonequili
brium phonon spectrum.
