Z. Jacobson et al., POSITIONING JIG FOR IMPLANT ABUTMENTS - PROCEDURES AND CLINICAL-APPLICATIONS, The Journal of prosthetic dentistry, 75(4), 1996, pp. 435-439
A custom-milled abutment may be positioned in six different orientatio
ns on a hexed implant, When more than one implant abutment is to be pl
aced, the number of possible orientations increases and makes this ste
p time consuming. It is imperative that the abutment be held in a fixe
d position while the abutment screw is tightened. Occasionally the mas
ter working cast is not accurate and a procedure to correct the cast w
ithout making a new impression is required, This article describes a p
rocedure for making and using a positioning jig to alleviate these pro
blems.
