Sl. Wei et al., DETERMINATION OF TERBIUM WITH SOLID-SURFACE ROOM-TEMPERATURE LUMINESCENCE OPTOSENSING, Analytica chimica acta, 322(3), 1996, pp. 167-171
Transient immobilization of the complex formed by acetylacetone with T
b(III) on the chelating resin of Chelex 100 packed in a flow cell can
induce a room temperature luminescence behaviour in aqueous solutions.
Based on this phenomenon, a new room temperature luminescence optosen
sing method in aqueous flow system was established to determine terbiu
m in the range of 4.0 x 10(-8)-4.0 x 10(-5) M by using a response time
of 30 s. Each measurement takes 1 min. The response mechanism of the
optosensor was also studied. The present optosensor was easy to prepar
e and the lifetime of the optosensor was at least 1 month. The optosen
sor has been applied to the determination of terbium ion in the synthe
tic samples.
