Abstract
Linear-circular dichroism in n-GaP with intraband nonlinear absorption of light accompanied by one-photon transitions of electrons between t he X(1) and X(3) subbands of the conduction band is investigated theor etically for the first time. The reason for this phenomenon is clarifi ed. It is shown that the linear-circular dichroism coefficient is eta> 1. (C) 1996 American lnstitute of Physics.
