Abstract
A case of papillary carcinoma arising in the wall of a thyroglossal du ct cyst is described. This is a rare occurrence (1% of cases). Controv ersies exist concerning its nature (cancer of the thyroid or primary c ancer of the thyroglossal cyst) and its treatment (Sistrunk's operatio n alone or combined with thyroidectomy).
