A 71-year-old woman underwent an emergency surgery for ventricular sep
tal perforation together with right ventricular infarction. The perfor
ation of the anterior septum was closed using. Dacron patch combined w
ith a little larger bovine pericardium, the surplus of which was stitc
hed in the surrounding viable muscle. This procedure was performed onl
y through the infarct of the right ventricle. She has been doing well
with no residual shunt and lives a normal life now.
