This paper presents a geometrical analysis of an uniform and consisten
t set of pulsar data obtained with the 100-m Effelsberg radiotelescope
at 21 cm and 2.8 cm in the autumn of 199 1, during an extensive obser
ving session (Pulsar Month). We have calculated the opening angles bet
ween the magnetic axis and emission direction for various conal compon
ents of pulsar beams. They follow two distinct lines with slopes deter
mined by the inverse square root of pulsar period, supporting a result
also obtained by Rankin (1993a, b). This is naturally interpreted as
a double-conal organization of the mean pulsar beams.
