Abstract
Alloys of composition Zr(Cr0.8-xCoxV0.2)(2) have been synthesised with the C14-type Laves phase. They are very active and readily absorb lar ge amounts of hydrogen. The effects of the (CoxV0.2)/(Cr-0.8-x) substi tution have been studied with regard to alloy and hydride stability an d maximum hydrogen content.
