The microwave dielectric properties and sintering conditions of the (1
-x)CaTiO3-xLa(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O-3 system were investigated for the developm
ent of a microwave dielectric material having a high Q . f(o), moderat
e epsilon(r) and zero tau(f). A microwave dielectric material having e
psilon(r) of 50, Q . f(o) of 38000, and tau(f) of zero was obtained fr
om the compound 0.5CaTiO(3)-0.5La(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O-3. The sintering temper
ature of compounds decreased with increasing amount of La(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O
-3 and a cooling rate of less than 3 degrees C/min was optimum for obt
aining the best Q . f(o) for all compositions tested.
