A prototype collaborative communication model was employed in vocation
al, academic, alternative, and Job Corps classrooms. The intent of thi
s program was to empower students and teachers to recognize and develo
p efficient communication skills for use in the work force. Instrument
s for evaluation of work force entry-level communication skills were d
eveloped and support services targeting weaknesses were provided. Resu
lts have been positive from all sites. The program is currently expand
ing to include employers and employees at sites for trial employment o
f Job Corps students.
