Abstract
A programme of experiments targeted at Engineering Foundation Year stu dents and aimed at illustrating the important properties and potential applications of different types of waves, including sound, ultrasonic s, waves on stretched springs, physical optics and UHF radio transmiss ion is described and discussed.
