PROBABLE TRANSFUSION-ASSOCIATED GRAFT-VERSUS-HOST DISEASE IN A PATIENT WITH TUBEROUS SCLEROSIS

Acute transfusion-associated graft-versus-host disease (TA-GVHD) is ra re but often fatal. Graft-versus-host disease that occurs as a complic ation of bone marrow transplantation is more common but has lower mort ality. Features of TA-GVHD are nonspecific and can be confused with vi ral infections and drug reactions. We present a case of probable TA-GV HD in a patient with tuberous sclerosis who survived and was subsequen tly given irradiated blood without any further adverse events.
