Abstract
The critical experimental parameters necessary to obtain fluorescence excitation spectra of weakly fluorescing samples are presented, and th e methods necessary for their determination are discussed. Details rel ating to experimental timing, optical alignment, supersonic jet operat ion, and nozzle design are of special importance.
