J. Kopp et al., CULTURED KERATINOCYTES SEEDED ON A SILICO N-COLLAGEN-MATRIX-SHEET TO COVER FULL-THICKNESS WOUNDS, Langenbecks Archiv fur Chirurgie, 1996, pp. 299-301
In an experimental in vitro- and in vivo-study we investigated the pro
perties of a keratinocyte-seeded biomembrane. Collagen-peptides, bound
ed to the undersurface of BIOBRANE(R), have a positive influence on ke
ratinocyte adherence, mitosis and migration. After transplantation to
nude mouse standard wounds human keratinocytes migrate towards the wou
nd surface and reconstitute a neoepithelium with intact dermo-epiderma
l interface. The easy, quick and cheap production and use as well as t
he short culture period make MCG's a conceivable alternative to establ
ished methods in the therapy of burns and chronic wounds.
