Two cases of severe drug-induced agranulocytosis (DIA) treated by gran
ulocyte/macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) are reported, A
rise in neutrophil counts with abatement of symptoms of infection were
achieved promptly, If similar encouraging results are obtained in lar
ger studies, severe DIA may be a new indication for granulocyte growth
factors, particularly GM-CSF whose specific properties may be of part
icular interest in this setting.
