In this paper, we have analyzed the dielectrophoretic (DEP) force in a
planar electrode structure and compared the force with the values fro
m the experiments. The analysis is made by an FEM package program. The
motion of yeast cells in the electrode array is analyzed with curve f
itting in order to calculate the force from the experiments. The DEP f
orce from the analysis is one order higher than that from the experime
nts when the cells move afloat by 8 mu m from the bottom.
