Muon spin relaxation measurements in liquid neon in electric fields up
to 35 kV/cm reveal two types of radiolysis electrons created in the p
ositive muon's ionization track. Some of these electrons are initially
delocalized (fast) and reach the mu(+) to form a muonium atom before
they can become localized (slow) inside bubbles. Fast and slow electro
ns have similar initial spatial distributions relative to the thermali
zed muon.
