Abstract
[SnCl2(C4H7O2)2], monoclinic, M(r) = 363.79, P2(1)/n, a = 7.984 (2), b = 16.019 (2), c = 10.172 (2) angstrom, beta = 94.27 (1)degrees, V = 1 297.3 (4) angstrom3, Z = 4, D(x) = 1.863 g cm-3, lambda(Mo Kalpha) = 0 .71073 angstrom, mu = 23.84 cm-1, F(000) = 712, T = 298 K, R = 0.023 f or 2443 reflections. The -CH2CH2C(O)OCH3 group chelates through the ca rbonyl O atom to Sn, which has a distorted trans-octahedral geometry.
