Vp. Bychin et Eo. Chupakhin, REVERSAL COULOSTATIC STUDY OF THE OXYGEN ELECTROREDUCTION IN CARBONATE MELTS - THEORY, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 32(3), 1996, pp. 361-364
An original, relaxation coulostatic method is developed for studying e
lectrode processes when switching from a steady state. In contrast to
the conventional coulostatic method, in the method put forward, the st
udied electrode is initially not in equilibrium but in a steady state.
The concentration of the electroactive component is preset not in the
solution bulk but in a thin layer near the electrode, using an anodic
or cathodic current. The apparent reaction order can be easily determ
ined by one short experiment, from the dependence of the exchange curr
ent on the steady-state current value.
