Abstract
A continuous fermentation process is modeled numerically with five per iodic input functions of substrate feed rate. The results show that, f or the same average feed concentration of substrate, some of the perio dic input functions can improve the performance of the process, giving increased productivities. The reduced ramp-wave function has been fou nd to give the highest productivity.
