Abstract
5 GHz VLBI observations made at four epochs be tween 1985.4 and 1989.3 support the previously reported evidence for superluminal motion in t he parsec-scale jet of the N galaxy 3C 390.3. By using the VLA in its normal synthesis mode for the 1989.3 epoch, we also obtained a high dy namic range image of 3C 390.3 at 1.2 '' resolution which shows a one-s ided long and very thin jet extending from the core toward the norther n lobe. At the same epoch we measured the spectrum of the central comp onent of 3C 390.3.
