S. Lavin et al., HEMATOLOGICAL VALUES OF MONTAGUS HARRIER (CIRCUS-PYGARGUS), Comparative biochemistry and physiology. Part A, Physiology, 105(1), 1993, pp. 103-104
1. The hematology and erythrocyte dimensions of 11 Montagu's harrier (
Circus pygargus) have been studied. 2. Significant statistical differe
nces between the male and female groups were only detected for MCHC (P
< 0.05), length of nucleus (P < 0.01) and cellular surface (P < 0.05)
3. Both sexes have similar values of erythrocyte number, hematocrit v
alue and hemoglobin content. 4. Montagu's harrier have higher number o
f heterophils (70.63%) than lymphocytes (16.54%)
