SOME REPRESENTATIONS OF GROUPS OF AUTOMORPHISMS OF A FREE GROUP

We show that the representations of certain automorphism groups of a f ree group afforded by compact Lie groups as described by Long can be d ecomposed into sums of trivial representations and Magnus-Gassner repr esentations. (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
