Er. Perrell et al., NUMERICAL-SIMULATION OF NONEQUILIBRIUM CONDENSATION IN A HYPERSONIC WIND-TUNNEL, Journal of thermophysics and heat transfer, 10(2), 1996, pp. 277-283
A computational method for calculating supersonic two-dimensional nozz
le flows with nonequilibrium phase change is developed, The code uses
a fully implicit, finite volume formulation with Steger-Warming flux v
ector splitting and Jacobi point relaxation. Source terms for finite r
ate condensation and evaporation are constructed from the classical th
eories of nucleation and droplet growth, Calculations of the NASA Lang
ley Research Center 8 ft High Temperature Tunnel nozzle are performed
and compared with previously reported quasi-one dimensional calculatio
ns and experimental data.
