Abstract
A new ring expansion reaction of 1-acyl-2-vinylpiperidines and 1-acyl- 2-vinqrlpiperazines has been achieved. Amide enolate induced aza-Clais en rearrangements of 1-acyl-2-azacycles provide the corresponding lact ams possessing various substituents at alpha-position of carbonyl in g ood yields.
