Abstract
The semiclassical extended Thomas-Fermi approximation together with Sk yrme forces is used to get the particle and kinetic energy densities o f the projectile and target that are the input to obtain the ion-ion p otential in the double folding model. From the comparison with the Har tree-Fock potential it is seen that the semiclassical results converge to the quantal values when the h(4)-order in the kinetic energy densi ty is taken into account. The same convergence in the scattering resul ts is also investigated.
