The anatomy and physiology of the mammary glands in the swine is recal led. Hormones which intervene in the physiology of the reproduction an d lactation are considered, as well as factors which influence the pas sage of drugs in the milk: liposolubility, pH, pKa and protein binding . Therapeutic treatments against mammary affections in the sow are giv en.
