Abstract
A two years and a half old sow, weighing 280 kg, was utilized for the anatomical study of its mammary glands. The dissection showed the pres ence of an important transverse venous anastomose between the mammary glands of each pair. The possible physiopathological implications of t hese bilateral venous communications are mentioned.
