Z. Foltynowicz et al., ISOMERIZATION OF ALLYLTRISUBSTITUTED SILANES AND DECENES ACCOMPANYINGTHEIR COMETATHESIS IN THE PRESENCE OF RUTHENIUM COMPLEXES, Polish Journal of Chemistry, 70(4), 1996, pp. 468-475
It was found that the product of cometathesis of allyltrisubstituted s
ilanes acid 1-decene in the presence of different complexes of rutheni
um was (E)- and (Z)-R(3)SiCH=CHR(1) (R = Me or EtO; R(1) = n-C8H17.).
The cometathesis was accompanied by the migration of a double bond in
allylsilanes and 1-decene. The isomerization of allyltrisubstituted si
lanes to appropriate propenyltrisubstituted silanes as well as of 1-,
2-, and 4- alkenes to isomeric alkenes in the presence of ruthenium co
mplexes was investigated too. It was proved that the migration of a do
uble bond is accompanied by (E) - (Z) isomerization. Products of the f
irst stage of the migration reaction are mainly (E) isomers. Isomeriza
tion proceeds at lower temperatures than cometathesis. Tectrachloroeth
ylene as a solvent was favorable for isomerization, but it inhibited c
ometathesis.
